Now I know this is an old kit I've never had to bend and tape an engine pipe before ! This will be an interesting build

I might use a bit of CA on the other side

Engine now built and just got to paint it , it when's together quite well but all the parts needed filing but I didn't get any major gaps that needed filling and those that are there will be covered once the engine is in

              Wow! You go fast

Once build you don't have the option to show it?

I don't mess about mate I get in and get done

Well here is the completed engine all painted , this was a bit boring everything but the exhausts and engine brackets was black so I just added a couple of burnt pips to give it a bit of detail and I dry brushed with dust grey to give it some wear and highlights

You might find this shot useful. I know it is a Mossie but it is still a Merlin

                          It looks good.

For a bit of further inspiration here's a picture of the exhausts on a Merlin engined war bird. It's a Spitfire but uses a fuel formula close to WW2 specifications, so it is reasonable to assume that the colouring/staining would be similar too.

I reckon yours are close, maybe a little dry brushing?

                          Cheers

                          Steve

                                Hi Alan!

Have you started the cockpit? Any idea?

I'm thinking to paint mine with some weathering (chipping effect on the soil), anyway I have to look...I see some photos on the web, and everybody paint free...as the engine!

If you want can start it together and share some tips
