I think this might be a 'Spotter' Spitfire leaving HMS Eagle. It is certainly a British carrier, US decks were wooden and looked very different.

Note that the codes have not been applied and the relatively high contrast between the camouflage colours indicated the Dark Earth/Mid Stone combination. The serials would be in the standard black. The camouflage was adjusted, codes applied and serials reapplied in white, after the aircraft arrived on Malta.

    Cheers

    Steve

Sorry Dave. Didn't intend this as a review mate, just start most of my build threads this way.

Work has begun and its progressing well! Decals to add, a little touching up to do and waiting on a PE harness because I think it would be a shame not to.

      Thanks for looking

This is a kit that is waiting for me to buy, so I will be watching this. (and yours as well Dave). I am rather wondering if the Hobby Boss MkVb in 1/32 might be a good candidate for the Maltese camo. it does look rather good.

Anyway. I will make do with watching for the moment.

Nice Mk V. Airfix does seem to be lifting their game. I like the cockpit mate. What brand of seatbelts are you getting?

Although one should never say never, photos of tropical Spitfires with external windshield armoured glass are proving impossible to find. Unless Hobbyboss have altered their kit, it contains only the external armour, which restricts it to home use.

Yep, good decision I always use the eduard seatbelts. And in terms of PE and sometimes resin, I always get it from them. Absolutely top class PE

                              Evening All,

Eduard belts arrived and I finished it off this afternoon so here are some pics of the completed cockpit before I button it up. I'm fairly pleased with it and it fits together really well, no drama at all. Lets hope the rest of the build goes this well.
