I've replaced the thick plastic .303 gun barrels in the kit with some turned brass ones from 'Master'.I drilled four holes in a piece of sprue and superglued the barrels to it.Then I cut it to fit the nose cone.

I use that putty and it's excellent and does not smell. It can be wiped off with a cotton bud soaked in water before it sets so the amount of sanding is reduced. Be careful not to wipe it off from where you want it to be though. And it sands well too.

              Recommended from me.

I really like the stuff.I filled the gaps between the engine cowlings and the undersides of the wings in the manner you described.Would have taken a lot more work with my usual squadron green.

I love using it. I first read about it in Model Rail magazine a couple of years ago. Put the cap back on though to stop it drying out - ask me how I know?

That in itself is a few hours of work. Nice mask job Dave.

A bit more progress.I glued the canopy on then realised I hadn't fitted the gun sight. So off came the canopy, gun sight fitted and canopy glued back on again.Ive also glued the machine gun assembly into the Nosecone and then glued the nose onto the model.I wasn't sure how to mask the guns.So I've painted them and then masked with Maskol.Im probably going to wish I'd left them off untill the end!.Just got to sand the Nosecone to fuselage join and then it will be ready for painting.
