I always thought that PRU blue was used well after the Normandy landings? IMHO it would look better without them.

In preparation for the resounding victory of PRU blue I've been doing some research. You're right Patrick, PRU was used right up until the end of the Mossies operational service. I've found some late examples of dark sea grey uppers over PRU from the mid 50s.

And I agree with you Laurie that the Normandy landings were an important but very brief period in the operational life of this aircraft. Plus I don't really want to do invasion stripes again as I've just done them on the Eduard Spitfire and there's a pretty good chance I'll be doing them on the 1/24 Typhoon. So during my research (Google) I've found some images of a 680 sqn Mossie with a red and white stripy tail and yellow spinners. I should have enough decals in the spares box for the correct serials, if so then it's the one I'll be recreating.

Thanks for your votes Guys, PRU blue it is going to be then.

I have slowly made progress on the cockpit. I think the extra detail provided by the resin seats is worthwhile, I have also added a few extra details from the spares box and some beading wire.

Hopefully I'll get it buttoned up tomorrow.
