1/48 Tamiya P-47D

    Hello

I have finally received the tamiya P-47! The fuselage has very nice details on it and I have decided to use the Eduard photo-etch and mask kits. The cockpit fits very well into the fuselage and there seems to be no gaps.

unfortunately, the kit comes with instructions for only one colour scheme

    Very detailed cockpit

    Pre-shading with flat black

Then a coat of interior green. The pre-shading seems to be working well

All of the parts laid out. I have not finished painting the side wall instruments yet.

Dry fitting into the fuselage, fits perfectly.

    See you next time

Looking good Ivan great start, I'm doing the Revell 1/48 P47 at the moment, it will be nice to see the differences between the two kits.

So far, the build is going very well. All parts fit together perfectly and there are some very nice details. In order for me to build the motor I need some alclad paints so I will order them and while they ship I will probably start building the numerous underslung attachments such as bombs and drop-tanks.

The two fuselage halves glued together

A barely noticeable gap appeared on the bottom that required some filler

        Tail wings attached

I decided to open the cooling flap

Started working on the engine but I need alclad aluminium paints to finish it

        See you next time

So far going well, assembled and glued on the wings. They were a bit hard to get into the right position but in the end it worked.

The wings consisted of several parts that fit together perfectly

                        The Eduard masks worked perfectly

The masks were pre-cut so it did not take too long to apply them

I decided to put the flaps in the up position

To get the interior colour of the cockpit, I painted the clear parts interior green

Next, a coat of OD green mixed with some tan

                        See you next time
