Ok, so I continued working on the base. Finished the spray painting part and hope to soon start adding more detail such as airfield items, airstrip plane guidance lines and I hope to incorporate the tamiya 1/2 ton refuelling truck into this diorama.

Masking tape removed, the paint boundaries are quite neat.

I have finally received the humbrol clear coats, but, the flat clear coat did not arrive yet. After paining the entire model with the clear coat, I got concerned. Why did the clear coat that was meant to make the surface smoother create small bumps on it? The base seems to be coming along nicely, I painted a dotted guiding line on it, although I am not sure that I like the "oil/fuel stains" that I created by spilling diluted black paint on the grey.

To clean the airbrush, I used the thinner

The part behind the cockpit has got some rough surface that was not there previously. Does anyone know why?

Masking off so I can paint the yellow guiding line

What do you think of the oil/fuel stains and the weathering? I am planning to put small fuel barrels in those spots

Have not posted in a while but during this time, I finished the model. There are some major flaws such as missing decals because I was not being careful enough and ripped them but otherwise, everything went fine. After applying several clear coats, I started the decalling. The decals supplied were very good. Once the decals were put in place, I applied several layers of the humbrol matt coat and removed the canopy masks. Unfortunately, you can't really see the interior of the cockpit. For the base, I added an area of grass and am planning to build a refuelling truck to complete this diorama.

Too much micro sol and fiddling around with decal while not being careful is a recipe for disaster.

I tried to add a wash, but it did not work.

decals applied, clear matt coat ready to be airbrushed.

Lear coat applied, masks removed, unfortunately you can't see much detail

I used an old brush to "paint" PVA glue over the surface where I wanted grass, then I sprinkled an excess of grass powder. Once it was dry, the powder was shaken off.
