Well, it's been a long time since I last posted a build, so here goes. I've been suffering with a tremor for a while, which my GP thought was Parkinson's but he couldn't prescribe for that until I'd seen a neurologist. It took 10 months and 3 cancellations, but I finally saw a neurologist who told me I don't have Parkinson's, just a dystonic tremor which should respond to treatment.
So, I looked around the stash and picked up my most recent purchase:

Not a particularly interesting kit, but recent Airfix so the fit should be good, and cheap enough that I'm not too worried about messing it up!
After a couple of days I have a reasonable cockpit tub:

Now I need to do some painting before starting to assemble the fuselage. Don't hold your breath though, it'll be a slow build!

Thanks chaps for your kind comments. The diagnosis is a good thing, but the new medication isn't having much effect yet.
A couple more things that have kept me from posting much are the new cat, and my wife had a total knee replacement
Hopefully things will get a bit more normal over the next months.

It's all happening for you Pete. Hope your wife goes on ok with her new knee. Also hope the new furry family addition settles in nicely. As for your diagnosis and treatment, good news - just need to give the meds time to work.

Hello Pete, well you and your wife have been through it recently. Hopefully life will calm down a bit, undoubtedly helped by Snuggles.
I know you said this is not an interesting kit, but I really enjoyed building mine some years back. So much, I meant to build another in a larger scale, I just never got around to it.

Give the meds time Pete, some of them take ages. Great start on the 262 there. Must build my 1/48 one some day. As to snuggles, she a cracking lass. Love calicos. Once they settle in they become some of the most affectionate cats. Our old girl was known as my second wife by my daughter, because she simply had to be with me at all times ?

Managed to get a bit more done yesterday and today:
An interesting assembly process; the two fuse halves are joined together, and the cockpit tub joined to the lower wing, then the fuse fitted over the tub and lower wing.

This took a bit of fettling, and will need a smear of filler later. I fitted the lower part of the nose before I realised that the bomber version needs a couple of holes drill in that part. Pity, the bomber has an easier camo scheme - splinter camo instead of mottle. Oh well, it's time I tried a mottle again. The last time I tried was many years ago and didn't come out too well, but I have a better airbrush now as well as a little more experience. Hopefully my new meds will kick in before then. I did remember to put some nose weight in there though!

Thanks to all who wished Dianne well. She had a total knee replacement on the 12th of August. For the first couple of days she was in a lot of pain and very nauseous. She was discharged after 3 days, then home in bed for most of the following week. After that she made amazing progress, the physiotherapist could hardly believe how well she was recovering. Stopped using her crutches just a month after the operation, and is now walking normally. Only problem is that she can't kneel on that leg, but she does have an almost-full bend. Her wound scar also healed well and is now hardly noticeable. There's a bit of swelling remaining but getting less every day. I'm amazed how quickly she's recovered, if she cuts her finger on a kitchen knife she has to have plasters on it for a month, so I was expecting after this major operation she'd be bedridden for the rest of the year!
Anyway, she thanks you all for your kind wishes. (As do I)

That's a great start Pete, I'm sure you'll get the mottling right when the time comes. Great to read she recovered so fast, knee-repairs can take a long time and infections are always a risk too... cheers
