Thanks again everyone, I'm glad you like it so far.

I have the fuselage closed up now, it'll get overnight to dry and I'll run some filler into the joints in the morning if needed:

It doesn't look like there'll be much to see in the rear once the main MG is in place, but I think the cockpit might actually be quite visible ?

Cheers Steve, it went really well, fitting together very nicely. The only issue was the upper gunners seat, which is slung between the two sides on a couple of tiny mountings. I dropped it inside many times before it played ball ?

I don't foresee any filler being needed. Last thing yesterday I brushed a bead of gloopy tamiya glue (white topped bottle) over the joints. As well as catching any bits I may have missed with the extra thin, it contains 11% solids, so helps fill any tiny gaps.

The joints have all been sorted and I've spent a bit of time rescribing panel lines. Some were victims of the sanding and some are an issue noted by others where they less distinct in certain areas.

I've fitted the cover around the rear gunners area and it shows what a strange design this aircraft is. Why make the canopy so large?

I've also been having a practice for the upper camo pattern, trying various methods from full freehand, mottle templates, and my favourite so far - using the template to give me a random base to start from, then joining or enlarging the shapes freehand.

It's taking some pretty precise use of the airbrush, very thin paint at around 5psi, but heaps of fun learning a new skill

Thanks Tim, the ultimate compliment! ?

I found it very tiring on my hand though as I still find a conventional airbrush unnatural. I'm not sure I could do the whole aircraft that way.

I'll have a go later with one of my pistol grip 'brushes but with a larger nozzle and wider spray cone it might be more "fuzzy"

No one says you have to do it all in one go Andy…….maybe one wing at a time then the body?

Thanks Paul. There must be a reason but I can't work out what.

Talking about glazing, it's all fitted now. I very carefully cemented it in place with TET, then I've run around all of the edges with a bit of Vallejo plastic putty, wiped in and wiped out. I don't want even the tiniest of gaps for paint overspray to get in and fog it all up!

I've also applied the masking kit, all 129 pieces ? and have to give a nod of approval to ASK. I've tried other brands of masks and they always need tweaking a bit. This fitted perfectly, all bar one piece which needed a tiny sliver shaving off. Unfortunately the new 15A blade I put in for the task also sliced my finger! ?

Flappy, sticky out bits to go on next.
