    Tamiya 1/48 RAF Mustang III

    Hi All,

Here is the progress for my Tamiya 1/48 RAF Mustang III. I will be using Techmod decals as I fancy having a pop at some invasion stripes.

Cockpit is ready to be closed up.

Office looks great David ! I just built this kit recently and do'nt recall any major issues with it, in fact the fit was some of the best I've seen. Looking forward to the next update!

            Hi All,

Managed to have a go at the wheel wells. Closed the fuselage and I am now working the seams.

May need to re-scribe a few lines over the join.

            Thanks for looking!

                  Hi All,

Here are some pictures of progress on my build.

I am feeling that the Vallejo colours are a little dark.

I've used a Montex mask on the canopy & I'm worrying that it my have lifted in a couple of places.

                  Thanks for looking.

Great work so far David, very neat painting in the office & wheel wells.

I've found that Vallejo dries much darker than it looks on initial application.

                      Hi Ladies & Gents,

Here are some pictures of the progress with the paint work.

Lesson learned about overspray! Mask all areas! Had to go back redo a few areas because I hadn't masked them.

                      Hope you like them.

                      All comments welcomed!

I have this in my stash too, did you put after market harnesses in as well as the decals? Looking good, though I see what you mean about the Vallejo colours - not too dark but with the tamiya and humbrols ones, the contrast between the grey/green is more pronounced but that might come out more with the clear/matt coats.
