    HI Neil,

I just used the kit decal for the harness. I thought about getting an aftermarket one but bottled out. I'm trying not to make things too challenging for my fledgling building skills.

    Thanks for the comment.

            Hi All,

Here are a few pictures of the progress on the Mustang.

The Techmod decals were a nightmare!

Breaking up in the water & when I put SolveSet on them. I've had to touch them up to make them good.

I have adding a little weathering and chipping though I think I may have over done the chipping.

I have some resin exhausts to paint and install then to finalise I will put a matt or satin coat on.

Help! Any chance of an opinion please.

Have I over done the chipping?

            Matt or satin finish?

The exhausts - What is the best way to do them? Would they be rusty?

            Thanks for looking.

            D.

That looks the business! In my opinion, you haven't overdone anything, it looks like a working warbird. Certainly not satin for me, in fact, just to be a bit controversial, I'd leave it be. On the real thing, the dirt, cordite stains, oil, etc etc all sit on the surface of the 'plane. As long as there's no in-fixed pigments on it, I see no real need to give it an overall coating. I've stopped doing it on my AFVs, and think that they look a lot better for it, a coat of varnish homogenises all the different surface finishes and textures. Excuse me while I now run and take cover...
