    Messerschmitt BF109.....1/72....Academy

    Next on the bench.....

Better explain this one.......i really want to join in with the AlanG memorial GB but its something im really not comfortable with
    i dont really do planes....
Havnt a clue how to do luftwaffe camo.....
And since i dont have an AB at the mo i dont know how im going to do it with a hairy stick!

So i thought id use a Bf109 as a practice piece before the FW190 comes along

    So let the fun begin

The Bf109G-6, my favorite aircraft ?

Without an airbrush I would slowly build up fading spots by stipling a brush with barrely any paint on it (like drybrushing, but stipling).

You can do it with oils as well, as they blend well.
    have fun with it, cheers

You haven't made your job any easier by doing this in 1/72 scale Paul, its only going to be about 12 cm long. I shall follow your build with interest. I am looking forward to the Alan G GB after Christmas.

      Thsts mainly cos i couldnt find a 190 in 1/48 that i liked ?

Ive thought about using a tiny bit of sponge to dab paint on.......or even making some teeny stencils....but then thats why this is a test mule .......to find out what works ?

This will be interesting to follow. I'm sure you'll find a way. Your ideas of masks or a sponge sound good. Maybe combine the two.
