Good old school stuff Ron. Quick thinking on the dashboard decals. The office looks good to fly in.

    Cheers,

Thanks everyone. I appreciate you good folks taking the time out to post your nice comments.

Yes indeed Lee, brush painting stuff is relaxing and no masking to alter the feeling either. ????

I hope when Barry starts his Devastator, he is able to mount the instrument panel decals as they should be and not follow this cheapskate's method!

Thanks again for all your input. ????

Don't know where all the ???? came from, sorry.

        Update.....

I like to brush paint as many parts as I can, big and small on the sprues. It is easier, particularly the big bits and I don't have to hold them either. I can get going with my yard brush and get the paint on toot sweet!

Painting started. I brush on the silver, let it dry then rub the surface all over with my finger. This produces a nice even, satin finish.

A bit bright, that's the camera.

Splendid. I was going to ask if I missed a vote for the final scheme, I was going to say if yes, put me down for yellow, and here we are.

Having just caught up Ron, it all looks rather splendid. I particularly like the silver, it just seems to call out to me. Great stuff.

              Thanks Paul.
I hope members don't get the wrong idea.
Yard brush is just a nick name I've bestowed on my favourite wide headed paint brush. But it don't 'arf get the paint on!

Oops, sorry Colin, I posted my reply to Paul and then noticed your post....
Yes, the yellow is kind'a pretty. My problem is - Wings down or folded? The instructions state FOLDING, not folded and I can't figure out if the wings actually do hinge or have to be glued closed. The instructions are very vague. I have even tried to see if I can do both options. Take some pickies of the aircraft's wings folded and then alter the joins
              Thanks for the input.

              Ron

Looks great with some color on Ron. I find silver one of the most difficult colors to get right but this is turning out really well.

Coming along nicely Ron. All that cockpit detail tucked away.

                            Great comments chaps, thank you.

                            Thanks Ian.

Chris. Is that supposed to be funny? I bet Jen suggested it.

Steve and Steven. Thanks for your nice comments about my 'silvering'. A tip for anyone using this colour (Brush work) Put the pieces in the fridge for 10 mins or so. Remove, and get the paint on quickly with a wide flat headed brush. Keep quickly spreading the paint until it's smooth. Then leave well along to level out. Once dry, go over the surface gently rubbing, preferably with the perceived wind direction and watch the magic happen. A lovely satin effect emerges.

Richard. Thank you for that. What a shame your friend can no longer join your gang. Still, he will have some great memories - And a pot or two, me thinks!

Joe, that's the trouble with aircraft cockpit detail. It all but vanishes once squoze in place.
I'm hoping that the vast amount of canopy, a fair bit of the interior will still be seen. It took long enough to put together!

Thanks again for all your input, boys.

                            Ron

                              OK. it's quiz time!

There is a glaring error wot I have just spotted on this thread.

But where and what is it?

I can't believe I made such a crazy mistake. No, I'll call it 'A Deliberate Error', thus giving you chaps a bit of a diversion from sticking plastic together.

No prizes, just the knowledge you are the S.M. Smart A**e of 2025.

No need to guess, such is the obvious mistake......

                              Yours,
                              Bradley Walsh

Have you 'deliberately' gone for a yellow upper port wing and silver upper starboard, with opposite underside?

                              That was quick.

                              Well done Jack!

The top set is correct, but for some reason I completely mixed up the painting on the two outer wing sections on the lower part of the sprue. What a tool!

Still, a bit more painting never hurt anyone - Did it?

                              Well done that lad...

I'll admit I was tilting my head at 90 degrees when you posted yesterday trying to work it out, but decided I was more cross eyed than usual and it must be correct. It was also lunchtime so concentration dips lower than usual.
