Hi guys! Some updates before I go to the Malaysia Scale Hobby Show 2016 held in Penang this weekend. Convert the MKK tailfin into MKM tailfin, MKM tailfin is different from other, it featured longer chord rudders, strengtheners and it has curve fin tips. I make the modification by using cement and 0.3mm plastic sheet.

          Cheers!!

Guys, some updates for cockpit painting - I painted the cockpit and instrument panels last night, the result is amazing, i mean those PE parts. Never thought of they still looks awesome after painting.

After dry-fit everything to see the result:

Some updates before primer surfacer, refining and sanding the whole fuselage. The canard was resin parts so it's quite hard to deal with. The moulding lines in the middle of canopy removed by using different grit of sandpapers and finally, polished with Tamiya compound. Now she's ready for primer surfacer!

                        Cheers!

Hi guys, it's been awhile, I taking an one week rest and then continue the Su-30MKM project again, here's some updates:

Canopy polished by using Tamiya compound:

New PE added before close the canopy and prime everything.

Done masking canopy, done sanding and done checking. It's time for primer surfacer. I use Mr.Hobby's Mr.Primer Surfacer 1000, need not worry onto paint rip-off drama from PE parts.

Replace the Hydraulic retractable rod with copper rod.

Saturn AL-31 PE detailing exhaust nozzle - the most expensive among all PE parts. Primed with Gunze Mr.Primer Surfacer 1000.

Done primer surfacer for whole plane.

                          Undercarriage.

Gunze 28 - Steel on the engine intake inner PE.

Airbrake, I choose Red as the inner color.

Landing gear doors, RED color applied.

Saturn AL-31 exhaust nozzle. Painted with Black > Steel > Silver > Burnt Iron > Clear Orange > Clear Blue > Smoke Gray.

New PE parts added, for more details.

Touch up the exhaust nozzle with Clear Blue and Smoke Gray.

Wash by using AK Interactive Shaft & Bearing Grease + AK Interactive Rust Streaks, they're gifts from Mr. Fernando Vallejo, we met during a model show in Penang and he gave me some of his products.

                          Gunze 335 applied.

Bring the ladder!! PE ladder sets for Su-27 family, it's okay to use on Su30 but not really accurate.

                          Gunpod metal plate.

                          Canopy masked.

Engine masking is a nightmare. Ah masking is always a nightmare.

Go bling bling, Glossy Ultimate BLACK + Silver.

                          Step by Step.

Let's take a rest here, Sukhoi series jets are really huge, this is 1/72nd scale but it still huge. 1/72 F-22 Raptor has the same length but still can't catch up with Sukhoi series when come to total area. Su-30MKM have more badass and dynamic shape, it's totally different style compared to F-22. But still, I love them both!

For the silver bling bling effect, I use Glossy Ultimate Black as the base, in order to create some REAL bling bling effect first your surface have to be completely smooth, sand it with fine grit sandpaper before you apply the black color. Mr.Hobby 028 Steel is recommend too since the Steel already have some silver element inside it, and it's much brighter than Black.

You can slowly sand it with very fine grit of sandpaper before you apply silver.

Ok, some touch up with Mr. Color GX 107 Clear Purple for better burnt iron effect here.

The Malaysia flag decals are up! This sporty fin was featured on one of the Su-30MKM which joined LIMA' 2013 in Langkawi.

Royal Malaysia Air Force, "Sentiasa di Angkasa Raya" (Always in the Airspace).

Fishbone Inc. made, this chrome fishbone means the end of decals application. Sunk nicely.

LIMA'13 tail fin are up, almost all stencils are up as well.

That's all for the day, guys. Thank you for viewing and I hope you guys have a nice day!
