    Aichi E13A1 Jake 1:144 stripped

    Hi,

Some time ago I made a 1:144 resin kit of Aichi E13A1 Jake. Although there are some kits ot his plane available, I wanted one with some additional detail like wing fold, vac-formed canopy and interior. If you want to see creation process of this kit, than click here or visit the gallery. But in this thread I am going to show how I use the resin parts to make a 1:144 Jake with some panels removed.

This is what I plan to do. I've marked red those areas where internal structure will be visible.

I know that such configuration was impossible to observe on any war theatres, but my aim is to show internal structure of the airframe.

So here is how I started:

Lengths of rolled copper wire are going to pretend the stringers.

And here is the roller I got from a friend locksmith:

    Work goes on:

I started "experimenting" with preshading substitute made with fine marker.

The complete wing is going to be set ready for flight but the one stripped down si going to be folded:

I bent the bigger zig-zacs with aid of tweezers and a hobby knife:

But at the wing tip - the zig-zacs are really fine so I made this littel tool:

So now you're up to date with this build and I will post regularly as soon as I make new pieces

The line between genius and insane is a very fine one and you my friend are walking that line like a boss! That is totally mind blowing. In 1/32 it would be a challenge. In 1/72 I think the most would just say nope. cant be done. Then there is you who does this in 1/144! You are a genius. An insane one but a genius.

              Hello!

As you can see on the pictures below I’m slowly getting to the wing tip. Four more ribs and I’ll start adding stringers

Gor blimey - and I think 1/72 and even 1/48 scale is too small.....   Astonishing stuff.......

                    Thank you!

With a good magnifying glass it is simplier than it looks. Dave I've seen your Bristol Scout and admire your effort of scratch building. These days models tend to get bigger and bigger so for sake of micro modelling each and every small scale model is significant

                        Hi,

Some time ago I finished the ribs:

And after adding stringers I decided to strip the wing tip as well:

                        Best regards,
                        Marudek
