I haven't updated this build for a while, mainly because it's been going crap.

I've had loads of issues with the decals, particularly the wing insignia (roundels, is that right word?). They haven't gone down well around the raised bits, have torn and one of them split in half when I was sliding it off the backing.

I carried on regardless, they don't look good but hey ho, this was my first attempt at an aircraft. I also did some pinwashing.

The Spitfire is looking good Bob, It's just a pity about the decals, they must be showing there age.

Decals on Spittys are always an issue, what with the long black strips, then the 'nobbly bits' inconveniently where the underside decal goes!!! I always end up painting over them because of cracking and colour matching is not easy. Next time I will use paint masks not decals.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I think it may have been that the decals were very old (it was an eBay bargain).

In retrospect I should have painted the roundels on rather than use the decals. Still, I've learned something new which is what I am always trying to achieve with my modeling.
