    Return to a stalled build

    Greetings peeps
Here is my next attempt on the modelling front I actually started this 3 years ago and shelved it after a disastrous loss of parts and interest namely all the engine throttles etc
Anyway I have acquired some replacements so now it is time to restart this build namely Hatchett’s 1/32 scale Lancaster BMk 1 if I’m not mistaken here’s where I got to last time

    Regards

    Colin

    Thats a big 'un Colin...
Never heard of that make before, balsa I assume?
I hope that you have an aircraft hanger to display it....
Looks an interesting and different one, I will certainly follow the build.

It certainly is made from laser cut plywood plastic metal and the dreaded pe but just look at the size of those instruments which have to be glued into place
last time I tried this was a disaster so will need to think this one through this time around

          1/32 Lancaster Build Update 1

Made up another part of the fuselage over the weekend and refitted fuel tanks and straps back into the wings. Fuselage part string on one side at the moment and it has had a lot of damage repair work done after stringing the other side hopefully tonight it will get a coat of paint

          Regards

Looks good so far Colin. I don't envy the task ahead but the result should be very impressive and well worth the wait.

                1/32 Lancaster Build Update 2

2nd phase of the fuselage build complete all stringers in place waiting for the glue to dry then it will be painted in light green colour
I believe this one will join the centre section where the wings fix to to and the underside of both will form the bomb bay

                Regards

                  1/32 Lancaster Build Update 3

Fuselage now painted looks a bit rough but the ends can be sanded smooth as they will but up against other parts and won’t be seen as such

                  Regards

                    1/32 Lancaster Build Update 4

Just a photo showing a rough assembly of parts so far to illustrate the size of this thing there is a Humbrol paint tin by the nose for comparison

                    Regards

Bomb bay painted black more bits of fuselage done looks like the rear end as there is a crew access door way in the right hand side and the 1st trailing edge

                            Regards

Good heavens. It will look amazing, but I'm glad it's you and not me building this.
