A little more progress:

I'm planning to build it with the canopy and door open, but I'll use the closed canopy and door, temporarily stuck in with Maskol, to mask off the cockpit. The door is already fitted in the photo above.
Next task is to paint the underside, and the parts that need painting Sky before assembly (radiator covers, u/c doors, tailwheel leg). Actually I think I should paint the white stripes first, as I'm going to do one of these schemes, probably the Tangmere one on the left. Anyone know how wide the invasion stripes should be?
On single-engine aircraft each stripe was to be 18 inches (46 cm) wide, placed 6 inches (15 cm) inboard of the roundels on the wings and 18 inches (46 cm) forward of the leading edge of the tailplane on the fuselage.
Moving on at my usual glacial pace, I've been trying to work out the painting sequence. It seemed logical to start with the white for the invasion stripes, so they can be masked off for the rest of the painting. I also needed to paint the insides of the radiator cowls in Sky, along with the undercarriage bays.

I decided that using 6 mm tape to mask the 18" stripes wasn't going to be good enough, so I cut a few 1/4" wide strips from a piece of Washi tape from Wilko (£2 for a roll - 48 mm wide).

More soon, thanks for watching.
