It’s a three-colour camouflage, right? Then you can probably spray the two other colours one right after the other, since you’ll have areas of the model you can hold without touching wet or just-dried paint
Couldn't resist the temptation to get this done. It was probably risky masking up so soon on the fresh paint but thankfully all went well.
Firstly, masking off the areas that were staying light green.

Then after applying the darker green and giving it an hour in the sun, I masked the extra areas, leaving only the parts that needed to be dark grey

Another half an hour to dry then removed all the tape to reveal this

Pretty stark and toy like since there's no kind of shading but they are skills to learn for the future. I'll try and do something with it, but for now I'll protect what I've done with a coat of clear and thank the heavens that I didn't peel the paint off! :smiling2:
And as a bonus, between coats I did a bit more detail painting on the equipment.
That camo is tighter than a duck's butt. Fantastic work with no probs and smooth too!!! You got a knack for this Sir and the Munitions also look excellent...……...
Thanks Tony, I'm not a fan of heavily weathered aircraft, even though I admire the skill of those that can do it. I'll see how it looks with the decals on and a few details picked out, then go from there.
Thats exactly my take on it , ive only really heavily weathered one aircraft and that was to match period pictures ( mig 3 in the defence of moscow in the winter , they got VERY mucky! )
Thanks guys, and yes Pete. With the really tight curves in some areas I found even my blue 3m fine line tape was struggling but the narrower Tamiya one worked fine.
I think the 3m would work just as well if I could accurately cut it to the same width.
I pretty much ran out of regular 10mm Tamiya on this and ended up filling a few of the bigger gaps with some delicate surface Frog Tape I had lying around, which to be honest looks and feels exactly like Tamiya.
