    Hi

this was an "Aldi Special" I guess as the decals look like "Rose Marie/Kelly Kid" not "Lollipoop" so the colour scheme is wrong - the decals are for a "Blue Nose" plane

If you contact Airfix / Hornby as I did they will send you the correct decals - go to their web site & look for "spares"

I just finished this one as "Donald Duck" as seen at Hendon (decals by MicroScale)

    Regards

    Mark

        Thanks chaps.

Time to add a bit of 'Pretty' to the aircraft.
I've started on the red bits.

Penciled in first. Then first coat brushed on all wishy washy! If it isn't, the paint is too thick and will cause ridges. I use this application to get a rough line between colours. Don't be concerned about a bit of wobble, these will be straightened with later coats of paint.
The main object is to set the demarcation line.

        Cheers.
        Ron

          Onwards and upwards eh!

Second and final coat of red brushed on and the same for the matt green. Because I paint freehand, I save a fair chunk of time not needing to mask the model.
I've also cut in the paint lines a bit straighter and sharper.

Next up I'll fit the various bits n' bobs. I'm also going to stick the flaps in the down position - Just for a bit of variation.... :thumb2:

          Cheers.

Splendid work and quite inspirational - but not quite enough for me to give up my airbrush. Maybe I'll brush some interiors.

              Hi Ron
Looking good. Certainly mastered the brush painting. Must say though I found the no11 silver nice. Looking very pretty now - not you the model!

Quiet old build this one... Not to worry.

Here's the aircraft ready for decals. Once I've applied them I will give the model a final touch up where I've missed some painting etc. I've left the tank seams as I figured they would be on the real thing. Right or wrong that's how they will have to stay.

Well the silver looks proper, better than the dirty grey/blue of the faulty pot that's for sure!

And I agree with you on the tank seams, they look like they should be there.

                                Thanks boys.
I've contacted Airfix to try and get the right decals for the paint scheme.
They sent an automated reply. It will be at least 28 days for them to respond, let alone to decide whether to send me a poxy decal sheet or not....Pathetic!
