Thanks Joe...nice of you to comment.
Here are some shots of the cockpit masking off after the front black anti glaze panel was sprayed on. The fit of the canopy sides are not that good
In later references I found the canopy frames were also painted in black and that might just hide the poor fit of the it.

Hi Steven...sorry for the late reply, thanks. Glad you like it so far.
Here are pics I took before decalling commenced.
For the panelling on the wing and tail surfaces I mixed a bit of black and silver to the gray mix and sprayed over some well placed masking strip. These were guess work as I didn't have any reference on the top of a F-27.

I drew up my artwork for the decals and positioned the markings as close as possible to save on decal sheet paper.
I then printed it using a color photostat machine on clear decal. This is only possible if the background you are going to place is already pre painted the color you want. For eg. the MSA lettering will be yellow when applied to the tail. All the other markings fall on a white background. The black door outlines will just simply be applied over the yellow stripping.

Thanks Ralph, after a coat of varnish over the decals I cut them out and applied them to the kit. The results were satisfactory...
The tail markings needed additional black paint on either side of the decal using a soft mask over the decals.
Next will be the tarmac and airport equipment for the dio.

Exceptional build Richard.Brings back memories.I flew to the Channel islands several times in late 80s and into 90s on F.27s.These were from Stansted for Air u.k.Quite a bumpy ride at times crossing the channel.
Such a great model.

Hi Richard, glad you like the build and the memories it has brought to you.
A friend had posted these same images to ARC Here for me.
I then proceeded to scratchbuild the passenger ladder and baggage cart from memory. The plans were sketched out, calaculating the steps and scale. I remember them as made with aluminum. For mine its basically all plastic strip.
I remember they were manually pushed or pulled at the local airport. The baggage cart railings were bent wire and the wheels were scavenged from the Airfix Stirling bomb carts.
The Preiser figure helped with scale and is shaved of all detail to be made into the Air Stewardess.
This is where I'm not sure if I should continue this thread in the diorama section as most of it from here on would delve on the base and figures. Kindly advise.
Cheers,
