Nice looking office.
Good call on the tropic camo as well. Not one you see on here to often.Comment

Slow going at the moment.
Here is one of the irritants that are associated with Kitty Hawk
See the landing hook. Shown as one piece on the instructions, but actually two pieces, had to look for the ‘hook’ part on the sprue. A silly little thing that is caused by sheer carelessness.
I have been putting the stores together. See the Sparrow seeker head and how many extractor pins and sprue gates there are on such a small piece.
Fortunately once you have cleaned it up it is not at all bad and the fins locate into position very positively.
I will post more over the weekend.Comment

HI Barry I see k/h still up to their old tricks of doin something this silly as you say an it shows the tail hook is all one piece but in reality two bits an I would be doin my nut thinkin where is the hook it so clearly shows in the destruckions just as well you are patience as if it was me I think it would have gone out of the window as Ive had my fill of their destuckions when I built that 1/48 jag never again
but you are doin a wonderfull job on this as you also are a very skilled modeller which I hope to try an be as good when I start my kits but i think no chance

When I looked at the photo, at first I thought the hook had broken. You must have been looking carefully at the sprues to realise that the little thingy is the actual hook bit to go on the other part …
Oh, and minor nitpick: you’ve got a Sidewinder seeker head there, not one from a SparrowComment

Some more pics.
I added a little more weight. Forward of the main undercarriage behind the front leg. The long nose makes me think that I need to balance it.
more subs being worked on
Wing parts
stores
Tail
U/C parts
I decided to strengthen the join between forward fuselage and rear.
two fuselage parts cemented, top first, when dry I will do the same on the underside.

That’s starting to come together quite nicely. Strange that the join between forward and back fuselage is so puny, but then again, this kind of odd decision seems par for the course with this maker, going by your threads. Also good to see that I’m not the only one who creates stains on parts with liquid cementComment

That is KH doing that. So yes they got that right. They get a lot right but far too much wrong mainly due to carelessness and a sloppy attitude.Comment

an not many other kit manufactors give theis type of detail an I fitted in some tiny hinges so it could be seen open or the covers closed
