Hi Jim

No I did not sand it back at all. I found cutting the decals up into ‘logical’ sections worked quite well. It does depend on the quality of the decals though.

I use Mr Mark as my standard but I also use Microsol and Daco’s strong version I find different products suit different decals Sometimes I end up using all of them on some decals Click image for larger version

I have been getting on with some detailing having applied three lots of solution to the decals so far!

Here is the seat with the Eduard ‘steel’ type of seatbelts used. Though p.e. Seat belts are provided with the kit the Eduard ones are worth using. Nothing is said in the instructions about seat belts by the way..... as usual, sloppy of them....

It was. It started out amusing me but I just got more and more angry at the sheer carelessness and sloppiness of it. Once I no longer enjoy a build I dump it - it does not happen very often but that kit is the worse I have ever touched.

Here is a link to the thread.

I have used the provided resin exhausts, they are not great but are still better than the plastic ones.

There are two very nice resin pilot figures with the kit. Tempting but I will not be using them. Perhaps I will paint them one day just for fun

Some nasty extractor pin marks to get out of the intakes. At least they are not ‘pillars’ of plastic like some on this kit.

Intakes built up. A little sanding to do on them tonight.

The undercarriage legs are not well moulded and usually I would opt for metal aftermarket but I am not prepared to risk wasting am money on this kit.

I had to apply yet more decal softener last night on the ip. Hopefully I can get on further with the ‘pit tonight.

                        Hi Barry
Undercarriage legs look as if they will need some patient fettling but painted I'm sure they will be fine.
