Barry, have you ever thought about getting one of those Silhouette Portrait cutters and making your own masks from Oramask? Expensive I know, but so are those 1/32 kits you build.
Pete
I was looking into those cutting plotters a few months ago, and I concluded they’re not useful for making spray masks for things like numbers and letters a few millimetres high. Note I concluded this from reading about their capabilities, not from having actually used one, but the problem as I saw it is that they all work with a swivelling blade, so to cut any given line they tend to start a little outside of that to make sure the blade gets pulled in the right direction along the actual cutting line. That means they’re likely to cut a little more (up to perhaps a millimetre, off the top of my head) than necessary, which will be a definite problem if you’re trying to make masks of small letters and other intricate shapes.
Hmm … it might just be doable, then. The impression I got was that it wouldn’t be for the kinds of sizes I would need (2 mm at the very minimum, but preferably smaller than that). Have you got a link to the relevant post on that forum?
Hi Barry, sad to see you're having so much trouble with all these decals :dizzy:. The model looks very nice though, I hope you'll be able to make some nice decal-sets yourself :thumb2:.
Well guys has anybody treid CAMpro series decals ? as that's what ive got with my super tomcat in 1/32 scale WELL HAS ANYBODY TREID THESE DECALS ?

I'm not a wingy guy but your detail & finish work is awesome. 50 years ago I used to do 1/25 models "for my kids" to play with. The semis & some of the hot rods had huge decals that worked well. I cannot fathom how after all these years an expensive model maker can't seem to provide a decent set. BTW, is that a tailhook I spied? PaulE

Can't find it at the moment Jakko - I think it was either CedB or The Baron, on britmodeller.
