Great work Steven. I used to pass a 262 every day on my way to the cafe when I worked at the IWM.

          Thanks guys,
I hope everyone is still okay regarding Corona...

I have an update on the me262.
First of all, I had a lot of trouble getting the right colors sprayed on...

My Vallejo Rlm81 was too light, my Mig Rlm81 was very violet. In the end I used a brown for a panzer 3 tone that seemed more correct...

Then I sprayed Mig Rlm81, this was crazy violet, I shook the bottle for like 10minutes...

Rlm76 vallejo was added, but I had trouble spraying the small details with the airbrush... (tip drying, spattering...etc)

I added a number "4" and a yellow band, the "4" is a re-used mask I had cut out for my bf109F with number "14" a while ago (time saver!)

Next is a gloss-coat and decals.

That's all for now, I'm on the train to work, another night shift while half the country has to stay home safe  ...

Thanks for reading and kind regards!

                    Thanks guys!

I did a bit more work on the Me262, first I sprayed on a gloss coat...

Then I added the decals with Micro Set & Sol, here's an image of the decal sheet...
As you can see the swastikas are included too, two are solid black and two have a white outline.
I sprayed the number "4" because the "V355" was specifically for the "/U5" version.
The serial number for the tail was cut too ("2355'11" instead of "112355")...

                    Then I added a panel-line-wash (Tamiya).
And today I sprayed an Ultra matt coat (Lucky varnish).

                      Hi Steven
Sorry to be in so late. I seem to have come onboard near the end of this build but enjoyed catching up.
Looks a nice kit. You haven't mentioned any fit issues. Lovely precise paint on the instrument panel. Great looking paint job, camo looks spot on. Decals have gone on nicely. Fingers crossed there is no paint creep under the cockpit masking. Always worries me when I unmask a cockpit but you're more experienced than me so all will be fine :thumb2:

                          Welcome aboard Jim,
Yes the kit had no fitting issues worth mentioning, a little bit of scraping here and there but it's a good kit indeed.
Unmasking always worries me too oop:, you never know so fingers crossed...

                          Kind regards,

Fine work Steven Were the swastikas supplied in two parts for a practical reason, or was it the manufacturer's way of getting around the reproduction ban?

Just caught up with this. Excellent Schwalbe my friend! The detail work and paint work are excellent, the mottling is top notch. Simply beautiful work and I look forward to the finished model.
