    Horten GO 229

After getting a taste for unusual aircraft with my recently completed blohm & Voss, I have decided the next one on the list is the Horten GO 229. I am going to attempt to share the build on here (if I remember to keep stopping to take pictures). I have the box and sprue shots. I hope to start building the kit tomorrow.Click image for larger version

Interesting project indeed Paul. Must have been a pain to fly without a vertical stabilizer...

Nice one paul , it looks a good kit . I did the PM models kit of the proposed nightfighter version of this ages ago and it had about 15 parts !! This one looks a lot more detailed . If you like the weird , secret prototype stuff then PM did about half a dozen , theyre getting harder to find now and as far as kits go theyre VERY basic but cheap enough and make interesting models . Cheers tony

I once bought a very cheap kit of this plane by a Turkish manufacturer, PM Model:
PM Model model kit in scale 1:72, PM-210 is a rebox released in 199c | Contents, Previews, Reviews, History + Marketplace | Horten Ho 229 | EAN: 4589913294530

It’s got about a dozen parts, but I never did put it together Yours looks a lot more detailed, that’s for sure.

Managed to get a bit of bench time tonight. Got the cockpit sorted and engine bits ready to paint next time. All going together well with no issues.Click image for larger version

A little bit more done tonight. Next will be joining the fuselage together and getting those "bat" wings on. Enjoyable kit so far with no issues.Click image for larger version

Not managed an update for a while. Been a bit mad at work. It's altogether now except the canopy, I always leave this till last. Underneath all painted. Top will be painted when I get a bit more bench time which might be next week as I have got sometime off from next Wednesday. As with all my builds it's brush painted with revell acrylics. The picture taken on top of the lamp looks like some kind of crazy bug.Click image for larger version

                      Paul,
Looks good another design that was so far advanced for its time.
