    Tamiya 1/48 Brewster Buffalo

Having another go at an airplane, after failing miserably at a mosquito I made a switch to armoured vehicles to try and get my mojo back. I think it’s worked and am going to risk sharing this build.Click image for larger version

No risk in sharing your build Matt, we're all here to learn, both from others and our own mistakes. Tamiya is a good start, I like the look of the Buffalo :thumb2:

That’s an old kit, but still quite good — detailing may not be up to modern standards, but in terms of build quality … well, it’s Tamiya I built one last year for the Animal Antics group build and I don’t think I had any trouble with the plastic parts, only the resin bits I decided to use with it, most of which turned out to be just about a waste of effort …

Hi Jakko, just washed the parts on the sprue this morning and realised this must be an old kit as there’s a lot of mould bleed and lack of detail like you mention. I will admit I’ve been having a browse at your build from last year, looks great

Probably should have posted a few more build pics but nevermind, not sure how the canopy is going to come out, will find out at the end when masking comes off.

sure Click image for larger version

One of my favourite aircraft. Not sleek and sporty but business like. Looks good Matt

This became a stalled build but then had a word with myself and decided to carry on and use it as a practice model, I am going to have a go at rigging and weathering, never tried either so may be seeking some advice.Click image for larger version

(Was) Going great, happy with this so far, at this stage I would usually apply a matt lacquer but determined to improve I then tried using a panel line wash and got it wrong. These pics are before I b*gg*#@d it up.
