More to update on soon but for now I have attached the wings. These are not very ‘Tamiya like’ for fit, there are gaps that need some filler. There is also a bit of a ridge but it’s the same on both sides so I am not convinced it a fit issue. I just ran some Vallejo Plastic Putty along the seam and wiped off the surplus with a cotton bud. I might find it needs a bit more work when I get a good look at it under primer.

Some more subs coming along.
The front section with the HUD. Simply black primed and dry brushed with Uschi metal powders.
Some canopy parts prepped
The canopy has quite a seam to deal with, a lot more pronounced that it is on new tooled kits.
A scrape with a knife, then sanding with three grades of sanding stick including a polisher. It really needs dipping but I have never had success doing that. It looks fine though even if not perfect.
The Gator Grip is ideal for this as it dries clear, The pic above is just after the parts were glued together so you can still see the white Gator Grip.Comment

I fitted the wheels. they screw in with a good firm fix, no problems with these breaking...
Note that the front wheel well covers are fitted closed.
I did a loose test fit of the nose and it looks like this is no tail sitter.
It was a great fit so I went straight in with fixing it in place with screws and cement.
The fit was perfect, the rear cockpit part was fitted again with screws, a couple more panels and we get this...

There is a nicely detailed radar set to go in the nose but I will building in my usual style with only the cockpit open. I will leave the nose cone to final fittings in case when fully loaded I need some weight inside it. I suspect weight won’t be needed though.Comment

I have been getting on with masking and painting...
underside is MRP-094 and I was concerned that the one bottle of paint would not be enough on an aircraft of this size, with the area to be painted in that colour and none of the suppliers in the UK have it in stock...
Anyway - these I painted MRP-094
And masked up the airframe after painting the metal area to the rear. I wont want to varnish the metallised area as it would detract from the metal like finish so it will be left masked for the duration...
So I started with the top and left unpainted the rough area of the darker grey. It saves paint...
Then the underside - guesse what, there was enough paint, just... a few drops left in the bottle for touch ups... MRP's coverage often surprises me...
I did a mist coat of Mr Levelling Thinner, it reactivates the paint and helps improve the finish. It is also part of the airbrush cleaning process, so two birds killed with one stone...
Next I will apply some MLT to the top once the dark grey has gone own. Stabs and tail tonight.Comment

Started work on the darker grey areas with the fins and stabs.
Originally I was going to freehand it but I then decided that this scheme is perfect for Panzer Putty masking.
All masked and sprayed

A few minutes later and Panzer Putty removed.

I will do the other sides of the fins and then onto the main airframe.Comment
