Hi all
So the 'wingy thing' contagion has clearly struck.:smiling5:
I actually started this as I was was working on my Dogfight Doubles and have almost got it to the point were it's ready for primer.
This kit is 3 years older than me (1967 'New' tool) and although it's not the original box art, the box still predates my birth. I picked this up cheap at a small model show a couple of years ago and decided to give it a whirl.
I am not going to through any AM parts at it given how cheap it was. It is entirely intended to be a practice piece to improve my AB skills on planes following my first attempt on the Spitfire and 109. It will then go on display in Junior's room
The kit itself is very basic. The only interior is the pilot and read gunner, the rear MG, the pilot's seat (the gunner doesn't even get one of those) and some decal instrument panels.
That said it actually went together nicely. Plastic was not soft and no flash or major fit issues to speak of. The only real issue were several pin marks on the tail plane pieces (I'm deliberately ignoring the raised panel lines). What I was very impressed with was how fine almost all of the attachment points were for such an old kit - modern model companies take note!
The instructions are somewhat limited though and so I had to take a peak at or two at the instructions for the Eduard 110s I have in the stash.
ACW as usual
ATB.
Andrew
PS I do now understand why AM canopy masks are so popular!! It was first time going masks of this number and it was made quite tricky by how fine the canopy lines were. Please be gentle....... :cold-sweat:
