Nothing like a bit of foundation to the make up to get it smooth. Will be adding a bit of eye shadow and mascara...okay enough of that Richard. :smiling2:
Thanks guys, all that sanding has given a smooth finish. The putty has behaved. With the light colors, a primer helps as a base coat so you needn't apply too many coats to hide any difference in shades.

Hi John, today we're still serving left overs from the CNY re-union dinner which basically is Chai (Vegetarian dish cooked with preserved been curd and assortment of vege from mushrooms, tofu, broccoli, cauliflower, bak choy, snow peas, ginger and so on...) Roast Pork with crackling skin (homemade) Steamed cod fish, Buttered prawns, Pacific clams, Salted fried chicken, Apple soup and white rice. Drinks will be Hiong Pin (Chrysanthemum Chinese tea).

You each get a Mandarin orange and Chinese love letters cookies.

Okay, here are some index finger numbing airbrushing of pre-shading. The shade I used was very diluted black and kept it light as the main colors of white and Gull grey would show up the pre-shade easily if too dark.



I also added some light streaking to the wing surface with the airbrush.

Looking good Richard, I've tried some pre shading but appear to lose it when doing the main colour, maybe too thick covering with the main ?

John, the main colors have to be applied in thin coats to achieve the effect. This practice also ensures you keep fine details from getting obliterated.

Main paints on and masking off. You can just see the subtle pre-shade which would be very hard to achieve with post shading.



A coat of Future varnish was applied pre-masking removal for decaling. I would re-use the mask again when Matt coating later.



The panels are crying out for some pin washes and so are the rivets that were purposely left untouched when sanding.

Thanks guys...I have a friend who used to say that round is a shape :smiling2:...he meant that about him. :tears-of-joy: The O2 does have its unique shape.

I didn't miss out the underneath either...I didn't have reference of the undercarriage doors or how it worked so didn't scribe or make doors. From latest images there is suppose to be doors and the legs swing back into the belly.

I forgot to mention the two little tubes under the belly were added and one of the vent outlets was drilled out...

Here's some itsy bitsy stuff I added to the top of the wing with plastic strip pre-painted in black and glued on with just a tiny bit of CA.



The kit doesn't come with these bits...they do enhance the look of the kit and glad I added them. The one on the far right will have an antenna wire attached to the rear left tail.
