Dart Herald 1/72 Marquette ???? Jersey airport Diorama : I hope.

Yes I hope about the worst mouldings I have seen. However nothing like a challenge.

Dart Herald was a winner for Jersey Airport. The aiport on one of the highest points of the Island next to the sea with high winds.
The Herald with it wings on top was able to land & take off when others could not.

          Laurie,
all I can say is - Best of Luck! I think you'll need it.
If I had to make a model like this, I think I'd use the bits as templates as far as possible, but you'd still have to scratch a lot!

For ever an optomist Dave (me that is). Hitler failed to get me. Russia's Herald does not stand a chance.

Fabulous aircraft laurie , the kit however ..... . On the plus side its a rarity so youve done well to get one , on the minus though - well its a rehash of an old frog tooling from the 60s and time hasnt been kind to the moulds . The other issue is that if your intending to do it in the channel express colours then the decals are very tricky . The green stripes are nowhere near long enough to go the full length of the aircraft . How do I know all this ? Well I built this very kit about ten years ago and had to mask up and paint the green stripes after mixing paint to match the decals , a very tricky job as there are several stripes of about 1mm very close together . The other option is to build the other decal choice , for british island airways . Whatever you decide , im sure youll conquer the beast , just make sure youve got plenty of sanding sticks and filler ! I can dig mine out if you like and take a pic to prove it can be done :smiling5: Cheers tony

                      Yes post away Tony.

Only reseravation I am sure mine is not going to be so disgustingly good & as nice as yours.

It looks nice and smooth because most of the surface detail was sanded away trying to get rid of the seams and flash !! its such a lovely looking livery though , i had to endure the hassle of the dodgy decals . Hopefully your aftermarket ones will be painless , cheers tony

I've got one Frog kit in my stash waiting in the wings for an RMAF finish once I get into a swing of it. Nowhere near your flashy parts so good luck to you.

                              Cheers,
                              Richard
