Indeed, seems to be ok now. The skirt for the canopy in the after market kit didn't look great but as the kit is so old it's not a surprise.

Great looking cockpit there James. Glad you’ve sorted out the fit issues as well.

So ended up spending some hours this evening sorting the forward wheel bay and adding some copper and lead wiring to add a bit more detail and some different finishes.
Have to varnish tomorrow before pin wash and then Matt varnish and glue together.

Some more nice work James, I think my next 1/32 build will be my F-16, just ordered some Aires wheel bays for it.

That's a lovely kit but even the stash is out of space till one is built.
My F14 has Aires tub and also the 1/32 lightning I have has Aires tub too.
I have never done the wheel bays actually with detail kits. Just saw this thing with the wire on YouTube.

Look forward to seeing the F16 build!

If you just type Aires into google it will bring up their site. They specialise in resin part upgrades

So being so long since I did anything to this post I thought I'd make some progress to post about.
The issue with the canopy killed any drive I had for this project however I think it is salvageable so am continuing.

Bits of the body are together, the fit is dreadful. Ever joint will need filling and sanding extensively but this will be good as it's something I'm very bad at and need to practice. Any tips are welcomed!

Done the intakes white (over black undercoat to give it some depth and texture) and will put top half on today.

Managed to break one ejector seat handle which I will need to remake from scratch up never mind.
