Actually, looking at it again they're weren't as many as I thought. The Spitfire and 109 dogfight doubles I did for the battle of Britain group build had 116 between them - 53 and 63 respectively. Allowing for all the duplications, I think this has a similar number.

      Again great work.

Its been a long slow burner this one but a final push today saw it done. The final fiddly bits included fitting the undercarriage doors and wheels , fitting canopy ( with demister bars) , drop tanks cannons and rocket pods, elevators, landing lights (from rhinestones ) ,nav lights ,pitots on wing and nose and various aerials . The nav lights were drilled and red and green paint added to look like a coloured bulb . The kit cannons were ok but rather than clean up the seams and drill them out it was easier to use brass tube with a bit of aluminium tape wrapped round the end ( the end section needed to be a bright silver anyway). There are a couple of things that ive not shown as I only just remembered them after i had took the photos - the static dump wicks on wingtips and elevators and the boarding ladder . heres a few pics to round off this thread and ill put some completed ones on tomorrow ,including a size reference with a MiG 21 to show how big this brute of an aircraft was . Thanks to anyone with the patience to follow this one ! Cheers tonyClick image for larger version
