    Hello Guys,

    A quick update.

So since the last post I have given it a primer coat of black Mr Surfacer 1500 thinned 50/50 with Self Levelling Thinner.

This left a nice smooth surface which once dry was sprayed over with Vallejo model air 71- 275 USAF Medium Grey which is equivalent to FS.36270, thinned 50/50 with Vallejo thinners.I tried a sort of black basing method just build up layers of random squiggles to create a blotchy effect. Once I was happy with this and it had sufficient time to dry the upper wing area was given similar treatment but with Vallejo model air 71.097 Medium Gunship Grey FS.36118.

Once dry the wheel wells were masked off and given a coat of Vallejo 71-279 Insignia White, the various undercarriage components also had a coat or two of the same.

Just marveling at how your able to work on something this scale, most impressive .
I find 1/72 the limit , I know you wear magnification, but the minute size of the parts must take some skill in fitting Geoff.
Any chance of a photo with a Vallejo Bottle next to it please .

Thanks John, yes I’ll post up a pic with a paint bottle next to it in the next update.

Quite a bit more progress to report since the last update.

It was given a coat of Alclad Aqua gloss and once dried the decals were added.

They went down well with no real problem I used Micro set and sol followed up with some UMP strong solution where needed.

I made a bit of a boo boo though, I hadn’t fitted the canopy at this stage and the realised that some of the decal around the cockpit should have gone on the canopy :anguished:.

This meant touching up the canopy edge with paint to blend it in but it’s not too bad.

The undercarriage all went on with no real problems. I found it difficult to paint the white wheel hubs as I couldn’t get anything small enough to mask them so they were done free hand.

I just have the ordinance and fuel tanks to decal and add, also scratch a pitot tube from stretched sprue followed by a seal coat of semi gloss and it will be done.

Here are the pictures so far :smiling3:

            Decals look ok

Just to give a sense of scale :surprised:

I’ve never built a 1/144 scale kit before but I’m hoping it will be quick and fun.

So out with the magnifier and it’s on with the build.

                Thanks Guys :thumb2:

It’s all finished, fuel tanks/ missiles finished and and added, this was the most fiddly part of the build :astonished:

It’s had a semi-gloss clear coat and I added the missing pitot tube from a price of stretched sprue. I’ve also tried to replicate some remove before flight tags.

Here it is, more pictures in the final reveal in the finished aircraft section.

                  Hi Geoff
That's a cracking result on such a tiny model.
