    Hi Barry
Having pain in your back is debilitating and very frustrating. Hope it improves soon and you have a good break at Easter.

        Barry

Just had a catch-up; it's coming on very nicely. Sorry about the back, hope it's getting better.

It was interesting to read the discussion you and Dave had about the ICM dates and their improvement, as I've just acquired a one of their 1/72 Dornier Do 215B-5. It is an update of a 2017 215B-4 new tooling. It's got very good reviews and so it's good to hear it's after 2015 - not that that is a guarantee as you say.

        All the best.

        Andrew

I have fitted the wing but there is a lot of filler and sanding needed. It is mostly done but it need a little more treatment on the upper forward join. I applied some Mr Dissolved Putty in a few spots and it now needs a few hours to cure properly.

I have also been working on a number of sub assemblies. No real issues with any of them.

Once this wing join is sorted and rescribed progress should pick up a bit of speed.

                Hi Barry
Back at the bench so hopefully your back is better. Filling wing roots is always a pain. It's not just getting a nice finish but rescribing lost detail.

I have been working on the engine nacelles.

The engineering is a bit over complicated, needlessly so. First you build a ‘box’ to form the wheel well which incorporates cross struts. Below shows three sides installed with one to go. The fit is fine if tight.

Then you cement the nacelles around the box

Again the fit is Ok, if tight.

I cemented the front first and, when dry, will bring the rear in together to cement.

A fair bit of filling and sanding is going to be needed on the joins.
