Many thanks Tony. I'm just having a few issues with white paint and there's a ton of it in the undercarriage. My old favourite undercoat was a rattle can from GW but their new recipe is rubbish. It dries almost grey then had a reaction when I've airbrushed Vallejo Air white on it. Fortunately it's not too obvious so onwards I goComment

The GW stuff used to be fantastic - years ago my son used to do the warhammer figures and when he stopped I gained a load of his paints . They were superb , brushing lovely , great coverage and excellent colours ( though the names could be a bit mental - snot green , vomit brown , scab red !!?) then a few years ago they changed the formula and introduced all different types - base , glaze , wash , highlights . I tried a few but couldnt get on with them , whereas before they could just be used straight out of the bottle , now it was a multi stage layering process ,which I imagine is fine for figures but a little OTT if i just want to paint an undercarriage leg or an instrument panel.Comment

I think that’s the same paint as the one before the one before the one before the current GW line … That is, the same as in the old, narrow hexagonal pots, not the later, wider hexagonal pots with screw lids or those with flip-tops, never mind the paints that came after with all the different layering nonsense that makes it really hard to paint with.Comment

It’s been something like six years since my last 40K game, and years more since I played it frequently, so I’m not keeping up with what GW is doing these days at allComment

I have absolutely definitely finished detailing this cockpit. Hang on what’s this behind the seat. Chaff and flare programmer. Nope don’t need to do that.........oh go on let’s try then. It’s a bit rough yet but a bit of pewter and plastic and nearly there. Needs to be tidied up and then buried in paint
