Not too much detail as it seems to be the 2013 boxing of this kit before it's recent re-tool..as such it's adorned with loads of flash,(every part so far has had an encounter with the sanding pads,) and raised panel lines...(might have a crack at some re-scribing)..lol

Not going overboard with the cockpit as it is about as basic as Airfix did, I'll probably fit the pilot in it to hide the lack of detail, however I'm hoping I can make it look decent with the final painting,

Not much to report on this, other than some seem work and a quick test of the wing alignment,

quick question though... how much dihedral do the wings have ? as much a Spifire has ? or were they more 'flat' ?

Doing a bit of google-fu I've just found a colourised photo of the actual aircraft, Taken 1st October 1940 at RAF Wittering..which would put this aircraft in the Battle of Britain..

There's some pretty obvious repair patches on the fuselage, and one on the wing by the look of it....

Funny thing is though, Airfix would have you paint the pilot in the standard 'blues' and yellow lifejacket scheme, and yet it would appear the pilot is wearing what looks like a 'white' flight suit ensemble.... hmmmm, Didn't Sir Douglas Bader wear a Tan coloured flight suit most of the time?

Sir Keith Park also used to fly in white overalls too. Pilots during battle didn't though. Bader might be an exception (i cannot say yay or nae), but there again. He'd do something different just to be bloody minded.

Is that repair on the wing actually the gas alert paint patch? I can’t remember how big it was or where it was located so may well be wrong……

A classic kit indeed. But as for panel lines, I don't think the Mk1 hurricane had many.

That's exactly what I thought Tim but having seen another site with the same question the general consensus is that the 'gas patch' would have been yellow, and a more square shape, but saying that, the person that colourised the pic could have completely missed that tiny detail....I'll research a bit more....... :thumb2:

Still plodding along with this... albeit very slowly, I've gotta admit though we are so spoiled nowadays with precision moulded parts, there's barely any part that lines up correctly, the wings have been an absolute pig to get fitted,
but it won't beat me... I'll thrash it into submission...

Years ago we used to use the term 'bimbling' which my old Plt Sgt said is slightly slower than plodding...lol
