Looking good Chris. I remember this scheme from the first model I ever built, but it was the old 1/72 Hurricane. Re the Lucky Gloss Varnish lifting with decal solvent, I use the Ammo Aqua Gloss for decals. Lucky varnishes are more of a finishing coat, hence they aren't as resistant to the solutions.

A bit of paint on a build and we can forgive it for all its sins. Until the paint lifts or reacts, then the naughty words can start again. But anyway, this is looking really nice.

She had a final half hour applying the rest of the decals, and is currently sitting drying after a satin coat...good ole Halfords rattle cans..(that stuff is like armour plating for paint)... then I'm planning a bit of work with oil dot weathering before she crosses the finish line some time this weekend....hopefully

            And she's finished....

Thanks again to The Smythe Meister ..(Andy), for the gracious donation of this kit, you're a real gent fella.. :thumb2: :thumb2: :thumb2: :thumb2: :thumb2:

She fought me at every step of the way and as I mentioned earlier there wasn't a single part that didn't need some extra clean up due to excess flash, soft detail on some parts and an abundance of raised panel lines, but I got there in the end...

            So on to the pics...

            the original for reference...

Nice I always enjoy models made to replicate photos of the real thing.

Yep, totally agree with the guys Chris.
That's turned out excellently, definitely a case of "a silk purse from.... "
