Very nicely done. I was worried you would be ruining the model with the hand-painted lozenges, but the overspray suddenly pulls it all together so it works.Comment

Evening All You Crazy Folks,
Thanks Boss and in the end, I was pretty wowed myself when I saw the results!!!
Thanks Neil! I guess now, I am to lozenge camo, what you are to miniature surgery in our hobby!!! You just do it better, Sir...
Not sure Mr. Smiff, but you may be confusing it with the word 'Turded'...That's what my fusillier-lage (what ever) would have been if I had screwed it up with the paint job. Thanks Andy!!!...
Yours or mine, Bro!!! Sorry Paul (Coat on, door found)...It did come out better than I thought it would...With a big sigh of relief...
Thanks Jim! Scared...Yes, but really glad it's over and done with. Oh wait, I still have to do the cowlings around the motor...
No update as I decided to quit while I was ahead today. I'll let everything dry overnight and do more in the morn. Decals and rigging on the top wings are on the hit list...
I can't thank you all enough for the kind words and encouragement on my build. I'm trying to ketchup with your fine builds, but not doing a very good job. I'll keep trying to be better at it. Getting old sucks...

Hi Folks,
Just a quickie about today's play at the table (I don't have a bench)...I got on with the decals for the Fuselage and was surprised how smoothly it actually went. I only had one oopsie and I couldn't correct it,
The chevron with the 2 little signs was one piece and a breeze to apply. Now note the black band at the top. The side bands are one piece with the cross on the green backing and easy to line up on the sides. The bottom black band was a perfect fit between the side bands. The top band was also a perfect fit until I nudged it with a Q-tip while drying up the excess water. I had started drying on the other side, working my way to this side. The glue on the decal did its job,
I didn't want to wet it again and maybe lose the adhesion and man handling it didn't work either. I left it alone and from 3 meters, it doesn't look to bad. I'll see what the weathering can do later. The strip of green tape is where the ammo belt for the flare gun is attached. The other side,
Here, it all went together perfectly! There are no signs on the chevron here and the 7 is really a 2, turned upside down after I trimmed it off. The little decal on the tail shows where a wooden horse or other support (to lift the tail) should be placed. I only used M Sol in 4 tiny places as these really snuggled down well with just water. 2 thumbs up to Cartograph for them being really nice and easy to use!!!
No rigging done today, but tomorrow it will happen. Been busy doing real life stuff too and tonight is Stammtisch...I also hope to shoot a coat of Matt on the fusillier in the morn. When it's dry, I can finally get all the Accessoires attached to it along with doing touchups too...
Have a great evening and later, I'll have a cold one for you all too...

Lovely work Allen. Really taking shape. You could try joining the lines and taking the step out with a small amount of paint.Comment

Thanks Guys!!!
Thanks my friend! It does have its moments though, Rick. It did turn out better than expected, but a bit too light on the over coat...
No real update tonight as I forgot (again) to take any pics of the progress? Rigging is an interesting affair on these wing thingy's. I did some research and found that the rigging only had one turnbuckle per cable. These were mostly attached on the lower end of the rigging. I removed the loose turnbuckle on the 8 main pieces I had made earlier. I have all of the attachment eyelets and rigging glued in their proper places. I just have to put the thing together to connect the (rigging) dots to one another. I'll shoot a few pics in the morn and do a full post, just to keep you bored. All of the masking has been removed and the cowling is also painted/faded and ready to be glued in place. Till tomorrow............
Have a great weekend and be careful out there!

Afternoon Everyone,
Finally took some pics of my play at the table and a bit of progress has been made. First,
Thanks so much Mick! Having a great time....Not really...
Thanks Dude 2! The old college try is starting to pay off I think...
Like I stated, I got all the eyelets for the rigging in place and the second coat of Matt was applied on the fusi thang,
The top bridge has 6 eyelets, the landing gear has 4 eyelets and the cabane struts (under the bridge) has 1 each. A fun job trying to dab a tiny drop of CA and then getting them into the holes. Then I glued the top cowling in place. The fit wasn't 100% and clamps wouldn't work, so I held it together with my fingers until it dried enough to stay in place,
A test fit of the 2 lower cowling pieces showed a small prob with them fitting together on the bottom. but no big deal. With this done, I decided to attach the struts (over the 7) to get them aligned with the top bridge plate,
A very good fit, so I left it on for the struts to dry in place. I then finished up the playing with the Accessoires,
The two holders have to be painted and then CA'd onto the Fusi thang at the end, so they don't get pinged off by my rigging escapades. I really got tired of always playing with all the parts, so I did a quick test fit. It's a bird, it's a plane, It's a Halberstadt!!! Well almost,
Note the rigging on the wings...
There were 2 thoughts about this after the test...I took it back apart before I broke something and thought the Fusi and the bridge misted color was way too light compared with the wing colors. I realized I should have misted a coat of Desert Yellow on it, instead of the Deck Tan. I have an idea how to tone it down without losing the hex job. The second thought came looking at the top cowling... I forgot to put the 2 rigging lines inside it before I glued it on. That was a pretty easy fix,
Here they are in place. I had to thread the right one through the hole and CA'd a nub on the end. When it dried, I pulled it out and the nub holds it inside. The left one was just a drop of CA on the cowling lip and dabbed the line into it to stay. These are long pieces as they have to be done once the bridge is glued on over the pit, on the inside of the struts. That could be a real beatch when the time comes. I still need to affix the 2 Cabane struts for the bridge front. The mounts are in the Fusi in front of the rad hose and on the other side. That's what the notches are for in the cowling. You may also notice that none of the motor parts got broken from the masking job. That was the real highlight so far...
That's it for now folks. Still plenty of work and touchups to do. Thanks for looking in and have a great week. All C, C, and abuse is cheerfully accepted too!!!...
