Looking very good James. Some resin parts are so fragile that clean up is virtually impossible. Glad the control flaps etc all fitted fine as I notice they were for the Tamiya kit. That's a very competent pre-shade.and paint job. You're making a cracking job of this lesser known Lancaster kit.
Fit wasn't too bad overall I guess, bomb bay was a bit of a pig, I did a bit of surgery and used some non standard fitting.Comment

HELP NEEDED!
Managed to tear the small "S" for the tail today, also the roundals on the wings (blue and red).
Cannot find squadron code markings with yellow edging anywhere, not the small "s" anyway, it's about 2-3mm shorter than the big S.
Does anyone have any of the 3 things above spare? I will of course pay postage.

So since last time, more torn decals, more swearing but also some progress.
I have done all the props, undercarriage doors and also under carriage before adding it to the model.
Sourced new roundals for wings but struggling to find a replacement for the fuselage. The S on the tail I couldn't find for love or money so just sprayed over it.
Wings black lining on top I have sprayed as decals kept tearing.Comment

More tearing today. Have ordered a full new decal set. The roundals for wings came today, applied them and they went on like a dream!! So must be age of the ones in the kit which I think looking at it are 2007, so coming on 20 years old.
So next I ordered a new decal set. Had to spray out the one side but it's for the best.
Does anyone know, did they have different registrations on each side of the fuselage? I only ask as the decal sheet I have seems to indicate this (see below). Any help appreciated as I want it to be almost accurate even if not completely.
Anyway as I have got as far as I can before more decals arrive I decided to start making a base.
Hopefully it's going to come together in the week or 10 days.Comment

No โ the letters indicate the squadron (the group of two) and the plane in the squadron (single letter), so it would be very strange for a plane to have two different sets at the same time. But as I said in your other post about this, ISTR thereโs a restored Lancaster that deliberately has different codes on it, and the decal set is probably for that one, not for a wartime plane.Comment
