happy new year all an well i had a little while at the bench before freinds came over yesterday an i have glued the starb wing together an buy gum there is a lot of parts to these wings an noticed that i think its a mold line or something as its sort of a swish line in the plastic an i only hope it wont show when painted as its smooth but as ive not built plastic kits for so many yrs im out of the swim anyway a pic of that horribble swish line in the plastic

In that case some toothpaste on a microfibre cloth or rag will work

Yeah any toothpaste. Should just r move that as it's same as very fine cutting compound. Small circles and then clean with isopropyl after

Rubbing alcohol, clean it with that before you paint, removes any grease and crud from it

I would first try carefully feeling the area with my fingertip, and also with the tip of a fingernail. They’re sensitive enough that you should feel pretty much anything that lies proud of the surface, or is recessed into it. If you can’t feel anything, it will almost certainly be invisible after painting. If you’re not sure, you can always put a quick bit of paint over it (neatly) before continuing.

Chances are that what you see is nothing more than something like a bit of slightly differently coloured plastic that was among the granules that went into the mould, though. Manufacturers can and do recycle plastic (just not too many times, hopefully), or perhaps a darker bit of plastic was left in the machine somewhere from a previous moulding that used that colour. Or perhaps one that didn’t quite melt right.

Get it off eBay, great stuff for a proper clean before you paint. You would not want to drink it! I always give a good wipe down with it even though I use gloves to handle kit.
