ID:	1240116 As Jim says this undercarriage is fragile but I am sure that it will hold up but the real problem is in the building.

Look at the cross piece, broke while fitting. The missing ‘arm’ is lost so I am going to use stretched sprue to fix it. But I will have to remove what’s left and fix it in place after the u/c is cemented into the wing. Because the main part of the u/c will flex it will only break when being fitted.

Today i did not get a great deal of visible progress as i only has an hour.

The undercarriage is always going to be a compromise between having it to scale and having it strong enough to support the model. It is very thin plastic after all. It does look good and the missing cross piece is easily replaced. As for lack of progress - you don't rush a kit like this.

Good to see some progress Barry. Would it be worth replacing that u/c cross piece with a bit of brass rod?

I saw lots of Lancasters at Telford. Some stunning 32nd ones with props working.Never cease to be amazed at the standard of models around at shows and on forums.I was tempted to buy an Airfix 72nd Tiger force boxing to do a postwar version. Was a bargain at 22 pounds.Seen them on e.bay for double that.

Great to see you back at the bench Barry and not fazed by a broken part. Like how you have planned to replace it at a steady pace.

                Cheers,

                  It's looking quite impressive Barry.

Well my son returns here tomorrow, just for a week. So I won’t be at the bench again for a week. After that he is back to his normal life again, as will I.

Progress this week has been good, working on the inner wings. Still a fair way to go on these but here are a few photos. Fit has been superb I have to say. I decided to have flaps up as it would be quite fragile and vulnerable down. That needed some surgery to kit parts.

Good progress. Nice to know the fit is so good, as you'd expect from a kit like this. Enjoy your week with your son and then back to the bench.

Good to see you back at this Barry and more importantly pleased to hear that your wheelchair has given you some freedom.

Time for an update. No real drama to report. No fit issues but the awful instructions are a problem for identifying exactly how some parts fit. Got there on the end, first with the undercarriage.
