Love the look of this aircraft, recently and reluctantly sold my 1/32 scale one as wouldn’t have had anywhere to put it. This one’s coming along nicely matey so I’ll def join the rabble

Hi Mick, good to see you, it's big enough in 1/48,so don't blame you for moving the 1/32 one on!!

Thanks Joe,they were a bit fiddly in places, but very nice.

Well, after the shock and misery of the last ten days or so,I haven't felt like posting or doing much to this at all really.
However, I did make some progress before it all kicked off,and yesterday/today I dragged myself back to the bench and tackled various things, which I'll post up later.

I was going to try and reuse the set, external ones for the inside as well, but didn't trust being able to lift them off for the internals,so I cut some from masking tape as you can see, they look a bit ropey there, but should be ok?!! And here's the external ones..

Didn't show both sides obviously, but hopefully it'll come out ok,it's now all been primed and given a shot of the internal grey,(which looks Green to me!!),
So that's it for now ....

Cheers for that Mark,it definitely is a way to try and escape from reality... something that can be a god send at times :thumb2:.

I've done some more bits, pics aren't great, and there's not much "commentary", sorry about that, hopefully I'll be back to my usual style of blogging soon....

That's it up to now, the internal stuff needs some explaining at some point, but for now, it's mainly together and fitted pretty well.
Until the next time, cheers for now...

Thanks Tim,the etch has been fiddly and I haven't used all of it by any means, but enough to make it look fairly detailed :thumb2:

The instructions say to chop off the tail end at this point if you're doing the bomber version, for the MG,(I didn't even know they had one!! ),

I'd have done this when the fuselage halves were separate if I'd realised, would've been much easier, however...

ID:	1218869and then I came across some fit issues......,after putting the engine covers on the wing didn't fit, actually it was WAY out, resulting in having to chop out the guiding rails.....

With slowly moving around the wing in stages, gluing, clamping, waiting after each "area",I got it to fit much better, but not perfectly....

You can see that I've removed the covers on the other side,as I wanted to check that the method worked before committing to it......

There you can see the gaps that I am left with, hence my question re "Sprue Goo" last night! All in all I'm quite chuffed as the initial fit was SO poor that it was almost binable!!
I looked on Britmodeller and YouTube where I found a couple of guys who had the exact same problems,so it isn't something I've done wrong!
Anyway, going to do the other wing this afternoon,so hopefully progress afterwards will be a bit less stressful!!
As always, thanks for looking in
                            Cheers for now.....

Andy, regards the upper wing fit, could you not trim the arrowed section as below? Would that give you a better fit???
