HI Rich yes ive been told by a lot of people that i have patience by the bucket load an yes i like to try an make things work on my models but yes patience is needed to do this as i love the challenges an yes they are big models in 1/32 scale but i love them (when they fit togeather )lol an you built a B52 WOW thats one plane i havnt built as to me there is way to much to break off while biulding it an thanks for sayin im doin a great job rich but i'll only say it when its all goin an built but cheers from you sir

I normally cut them of and shorten the legs on the resistors if need be. The length of the hard wire is of no importance. The only thing you have to watch out for is to much heat to the resistor after. You can solder right up to a millimetre from the body of it.
The wire from those micro led things are a bugger though. I have been known to change those as well for a little more robust 0.5 flex (10 strand opposed to one).

HI Ian yes i cut down the resistor wire as well to about 4mm lenght an to me thats just the right lenght to solder to an yes i have soldered a wire right on to the end of a resistor as the wire broke off so managded to solder it back on but with them hair thin wires its very fragile so i slide a bit of shrink rap right over the resistor an then crimp the wire so it wont pull off but even then im very carefull how i handle them when fittin them in the model as its a devil to open the plastic covering to the wires when i try to shorten the wires as i find that the wire breaks near every time but i keep at it till i succseed an yes you can cook the resistor if to much heat is appliade but im carefull on this an havnt on one yet but i love doin eletrics on models as they bring the models to life in my opinion AN THANKS for your post very instrestin

an what happned to that lovely lorry with all them lights on it you was building i never saw that finished or did i miss it ?

an here a pic of the kits wing hinges an they fit reanonbley well so all ive got to do is drill a shaft hole through them an see if they will hinge ok but not lookin good as these are only suppoced to be fitted in the wing when its in the up postion so they many not do the job an may have to use the brass hinge will see fistly if i can drill them out an here in this pic they are apart Click image for larger version

HI ALL another small update on the hornet as my laptop is running very slow an will only upload a few pics at a time an i treid to drill out a hinge shaft in the plastic hinges but the plastic bein fairly soft dint like the drill bit goin into it as i had the drill set on slow speed an drilled slowy but no go so im back to usein the brass hinges in the wings an here just a half a hinge fitted to to exspanded wing endClick image for larger version

an ive now gluded the complete hinge onto both parts of the wings but will it fold down as this is the big testerClick image for larger version

an here a shot of the wings in the folded angle from the inside of the wing an this is the top wing section only as ive got to fit in the nav lights an the wires to go through the jions an leave enough slack in the wires so they can fold up in the wing tip Click image for larger version

AN yes thank goodness the wings tips do fold down ok now to fit on the missele tips an where the nav light fit an then fit the wing bottoms Click image for larger version

WELL still at the hornet in between doin SWMBO 'S decorating an got a couple of hrs in yesterday an here in still fittin in the 2mm nav red led's an its got two on each wintip due to the fact that the rail that holds the sidewinder missle will block one light so two are needed an on the real plane they would be a lot smaller but i cant do them any smaller as yes got 1.5 mm led's but not 12v so cant use them Click image for larger version

The folding wing tips look great Chris! And this large scale Hornet is progressing nicely. I’m sure that when it’s complete it will make a fine companion for the F-14.

Chris. Isn’t there a ‘forgot password’ prompt when entering password?
Just to be clear, is it your password for your laptop or for a program?

Not much use I’m afraid as I don’t use Norton. And Mac’s use biometrics for p/w’s and have a fall back system too.
