    1/48th Canberra PR.9

Hi guys heres my new project, the great English Electric Canberra PR.9.

The first flight of the definitive PR.9 took place from Belfast on the 27th July 1958 and entered service with the RAF in April 1960.

The version i am building is the photo gathering reconnaissance PR.9.

Here is My progress so far.

    The cockpit:

Not many parts, Two figures and chairs, then just instrument panels.

Seatbelts were made from alluminium foil painted black with a small piece of foil as a buckle.

    All comments welcome,

    Tom.

Great stuff mate, i have been waiting for a long time now to see this type of build process. It will make me appreciate just how much you guys put into these models. I know you do a fantastic finished job but i never see the hard work. Perhaps some one else will do the same. Well done mate, keep them coming i will be watching this one. Well done so far.

        Thanks for the comments guys.

Tomorrow I will make a start on the fuse and finish the remaining detailing in the cock pit (just a bit of dry brushing).

        Thanks again,

        Tom.

Heres the next installment of my PR.9.

            Not much done recently.lane:

Ive put together the fuse and cockpit with the front undercarriage out of view.

The wings were simple enough, just three parts per wing and 1 of those was for the undercarriage. Ailerons are two pieces just stuck together. The numbers are so i actually remember which goes with each wing, on a lancaster i built i put the rear turret on the front and the front turret on the back. It was only once i had finished i realised.

            Thanks,

            Tom.

              Hi John,

It is a good kit but if theres one thing bad about it, i think it would be because its not very challenging.

What scale are your sherman and crusader?

              Thanks

              Tom.

Hi guys heres the next update.

It's been a few days but ive got the body filled and sanded and the fuse painted.

The missiles on the wings are not going on because they are for a later version and weren't on this one.

All in all its coming along quite quickly,

                  Any comments welcome,

                  Thanks

                  Tom.

Looking good mate, i especially like the stand you have made. I have about 20 of these clamps... they are very handy.

                    Well done mate.

It's looking good,Tom and coming along at a good lick too.

After following your Scammel diorama I have every confidence you will do a good job on this latest project.

                        Hi guys,

sorry its been so long but i havent been able to add pics recently so here thery are.

I fixed everything together and painted but it looked to shiny so, I gave the whole thing a black wash and then a clear coat to get rid of the 'in your face' silver.

It will get finished today including a simple stand.

                        All comments welcome,

                        Thanks

                        Tom.
