    1/48 Revell Ta-154

Started to build this lovely aircraft. Hopefully the first of many German nightfighters

Nice. I like it a lot. It's both an attractive aircraft and looks like a good build on the way.

    Please keep the pictures coming.

Never seen this one before, looks very modern doesn't it? Look forward to the progress after a great start on the cockpit.

Nice choice allyne, cockpits looking superb. Lovely clean looking aircraft the 154 , i had the pm models 1/72 one but had to bin it cause it was just too appalling , couldnt bring myself to spend ages filling and adding basic details just to even get it to a normal standard!!! This one looks a totally different prospect though and i cant wait to see it progress, cheers tony

One more of the front section. Just did a dry fit into the fuselarge. Going to have to try and do some slight repairs here as the front instrument hood doesn't meet in the middle

Not a bad pic for the Nokia camera phone lol

great job so far Allyne ,just picked up a 219 night fighter looking forward to starting, hope you do'nt mind if I shadow your build for ideas as its been a bit since I tackled something other than a motorcycle kit. Thats amazing pic quality from a camera phone!

The first digital camera I had was an Olympus in 1997. Nowadays phone cameras have many more times the resolution than that did. Great shot from a phone.

I can see what Graham is saying, it does look like a much more modern cockpit than you would expect for the age of the aircraft. The Germans were well ahead of thier time though so I guess no great surprise.

Nice looking aircraft but it doesn't quite hit the spot for me like a 110 night fighter. There was something so incredibly menacing about them.

The 110 and the 219 are my fave nightfighters. Plus the 219 was the first operational aircraft to ever have ejection seats

Some more quick pics. There is some slight touching up to be done on the cockpit and side panels. But all in all it's lookin ok. Could be better though. I'm thinking of adding some wire to the back of the instrument panel. Just to make it look a little bettre.

In the last pic you can see the gap that the front instrument hood has. Going to have to have a think about this one. I might have to put a thin strip of plastic underneath and then fill the gap with putty.

Why not try a thin strip of plastic IN the gap? It works for gaps elsewhere and can eliminate the need for putty. If the strip almost fills the width of the gap, then your cement will fill the rest.

I'll give that a try Dave. Thanks for that.

Well here's another first for me. I'm trying to add cables. Because you can see in behind the instrument panel straight down onto the rudder peddles i've decided to add some cables coming out of the back of the instrument dials. Never used lead wire before so at least i'm learning something new with this model

Good job Allyne. I'll second Dave's suggestion of putting some plastic in the gap,you may still need some putty but it looks to big for putty alone.

                          Cheers

                              Very, very nice start.

I've read complaints with the Pro Modeller version of this having problems with warped wings. (See ProModeler 1/48 Ta-154) and here Focke-Wulf Ta 154 A-0 by Brett Green (ProModeler 1/48)

Have you notice any with your kit?
