    1/72 Airfix Junkers Ju 52

I started this kit a while ago, I have been trying to make a dent in the stash. The decals are not usable, I think I will do a silver finish with plain prewar markings. Here is the progress so far.

    The cockpit/flight deck...

The fuselage halves are together with the cockpit installed...

    Wings and tail feathers attached...

The engines are painted and the propellers are ready...

This kit is a filler eater...

What to do when you lose your DF loop aerial to the floor monsters...

And more filler with the cockpit glazing attached and masked off. Next step will be to sand the surfaces down and prime.

Thanks Trey. It is proving to be quite a challenge, perhaps reflected by its vintage. I hope the newer kit by Italeri is a bit neater. Primer is going on today.

Thanks guys. Do you know if the current Airfix Ju 52 is the same old 60s kit or is it a new issue? Because if they are still issuing this one then they need to reduce their price.

The office looks great Joe, but I don't envy you filling the gaps on all those corrigations.

Keep it up mate, it'll come right.

                Tony.

Half the problem is this kit came (comes?) with the float plane option, which leaves big holes in the underside for the float system. These all need to be filled for the land version. Anyway, she is all primed now. A few touch ups are required but it looks like the seams between the corrugated sides are all good to go. Then it will be paint time.

Nice save with the putty joe, Thats a win, i would of given up.

It looks great with a coat of primer on and it seems large for 1/72. nice

Bit of a hold up with this as I decide what finish to give it. I'm leaning towards an aluminium look with pre war markings as I have decals for those.

I think I built the float plane option when i was many years younger. The one with the huge ring under it, mine detection or something ? Nice to see it built again. Did you manage to recover the ridges after filling. I say ridges because I can't spell corrogated.
