Airfix 1/48 Ju87 "Stuka" double build

I will be modelling these as the 1941 scheme with the yellow cowlings, one will be in flight on a display stand (for a friend as a thankyou) one will be on its landing gear (mine).

Cockpits sprayed up and ready for drybrushing and weathering

    Fusalages together and wings attached

Primered and a coat of RLM70

Masked up ready for the rlm71

Camo splinter pattern sprayed on with RLM71

    Crew for the inflight Stuka

One sprayed, one masked ready for paint before and after.

    Masking tape mayhem.

    Both splinter patterns sprayed

Masked off ready for the rlm65 on the undercarriage

    Decals applied

    Undercariage

Both completed models given a matt varnish

Two great models there and again showing the aircraft in flight adds a sense of realism. Airfix really are producing some lovely kits nowadays and thes two certainly show them off to thier best. Great models and some really great pictures.

Lovely brace of stukas paul, Great paintwork. Did you change your mind about the yellow cowlings? Doesnt matter anyway they look superb in this scheme. The new airfix releases are really quite good arent they, even an older tool like this one , what with the full colour painting guide and the excellent looking stand. It looks a really nice kit too, and the way you built two side by side is like a production line!! Top job mate , cheers tony

Very nice pair you've got there. They look to be from a nice kit too.

What is the yellow cowling option? From what I can make out on the box it looks like an Italian version, maybe 96 Gruppo, based in Libya. That's an interesting option and more kudos to Airfix.

            Cheers

Yeah sorry guys the yellow cowling version was an italian decaled version which i didnt realise at first so i went with the german markings instead.

Not a bad kit to build, bit rough in places, but you dont get the stands with them that is an italeria one i bought.

I thought that was Italian. There are yellow cowled german options, particularly from Greece and the Balkans.

A quick shufty through "Luftwaffe Ju87 Dive Bomber Units 1939-41" by Peter Smith revealed these for anyone tempted.

                  And from St.G3

Top one is a B and I think the second is an R (not really my thing Stukas)

                  Cheers
