The brushed on Humbrol enamels have produced a nice finish so I have stuck on the remaining pieces.

The rear cockpit was a bit awkward, the gunners canopy is in two bits and the instructions showed them glued in line (closed) I wanted them folded back to show the M.G. This meant tucking them under the main central canopy...Bit of a squeeze and alterations but I managed to get them both in!

Ready now for the coat of Klear, decals ect., and weathering.

    Ron

Thanks Tony, it was a bit of a pig to do but I got there....

Hows the Amiot free hand painting coming along?

I find that due to the cockpit frames/glass having sunken edges to the mouldings, it makes the freehand painting fairly straight forward, in as much as the paint gathers in the grooves....Sez he, wot can't read anything smaller than 1/2" letters without glasses anyway! lol

Not long to Cossy now mate! Don't tell Scott but I've already bought his Birthday cake...........

        Cheers,

        Ron

The amiot will be making an appearance in the next few days , but i warn you ,its a weird looking beastie!!The hand painting of the frames wasnt as bad as i thought, it being quite easy to rub off any overlap with a cocktail stick as the paint ive used is acrylic (games workshop, brushes beautifully when thinned a bit with water) Like your good self im tackling the decals tonight.Cant wait till cosford to see what assorted stash fodder we can root out this time!! cheers tony

                Excellent Build Ron.

Looks very nice indeed. Still find it hard to believe that you brush paint. Its a very good finish-

Very nice young Ron, not a great fan of things that fly but looking at this i'm starting to be drawn to the dark side

Thank you for your comments boys.

But please believe me, this model is hand painted, all my efforts are.

I have never used an A/B. in my life. My late father taught me to paint models by hand, for the simple reason that A/Bs for models were unheard of!

                          Thanks,

                          Ron

Thanks chaps for your input on this model. It all made great reading.

I have now completed the Dauntless and have posted the finished aircraft in the 'Aircraft pictures' section.

                              Thanks again,

                              Ron
