I bought the "cheap" one. Just the plastic and PE for the cockpit. I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about....

I see now that there is a fully detailed Motor set in resin and PE on the way as well....Hmm.

You are doing a very good job Polux and as for the PE for the flaps, the only time Spits had their flaps down was under landing and servicing. Or if the pilot forgot to raise them imediatly after landing...

        I'm not agree!

But I will not discuss, because here, we all are a part of a great team.

LOL there isn't one...I'll pop a few pictures up when it's done though.

I am doing UF*Q the silver spitfire.... Not often you get to find a war time Spit that had been striped of paint and was an actual bare metal one.

I started it Friday and will be clearcoating tomorrow ready for decals...... Its been a very wet and windy weekend here....

Have you got to the exhaust stacks yet? Talk about over engineered.

You and me have to talk Ian!

A silver Spit?? Really!! That's great, is just want to do too

I haven't start the exhaust yet. It's my tomorrow work.

My intention is build and primer them.

I don't exactly how I will paint them, I'm searching a way to imitate the 'blue tonality'....for a most real effect

Mmmm.... How to explain... Some times the burned metal have this tonality, principally on the exhausts...

                  Or I'm wrong

Oh that... Sorry to disappoint but the effect is normally only seen on thin walled steel tubes. Like a car or MC exhaust. The stubs on the Merlin engine where cast and not prone to blueing. Oil soot and rust, yes. But not to much oil as that would of been burned off with the high temperatures.

                      Thanks Ian.

                      Will be a great advice!!!

Anyway will looking for a nice rust effect then!

                      Can I ask...

There was a little plastic piece over the exhaust, you glued it or will wait to paint all the set and then stick it?

Polux, I've been moving house the past few days and have come back to see this awesome build under way. What a great looking kit, and you are doing it justice.

I plan to put them on at the end of the build then put to cowl on.
