Your work is outstanding and i have seen many examples. I must admit that working at this scale is quite fun and enjoyable but very expensive. im sure you would do just a good a job on this bigger scale as your smaller one. I too was looking for a change and have now opted to build a radio controlled ship. Can wait to start it but i have to finish off the Old Dutch first.

Good luck in what ever you chose my friend.

I have now complete one and a half manifolds lol, here are some pictures of the progress. I did try to take a few of the pigment phases but i fear that the changes are too supple for you to be able to notice, ill put them up anyway.

Thanks Ian. A couple of feet to add to each one once the Manifolds are finished.

Having been off for the Easter break and completed my duties lol, i have managed to sneak into the workshop and make good progress on the exhaust systems. I have managed to complete one and well under way with the other.

Firstly just to confirm that i have finished the right hand manifold.

Now, the main exhausts are constructed from a simple piece of dowel roughly around 18mm in diameter. i added a reducer to these to get down to size. This was simple carving and sanding of a balsa off cut.

I was going to cover these with Lytho plate but had a better idea... aluminium duct tape. Sticks well and burnished up great.

Next step was to create the fluting in the pipe. This was done by cutting a piece of round styrene at an angle of 45 and then sanding to the desired effect.

                            Now add some grey primer.

Now for the tricky bit, try to make it look real, various shades and pigment added again.

And now you can see how far i have got with the other one.

I think it looks convincing enough, what do you guys think.

                            Cheers
